There
are three kinds of adjectives, they are short adjectives, long adjectives and
irregular ones.
You can

SHORT ADJECTIVES + er + than
to compare 2
people, 2 places, 2 animals, 2 things.
Example:
Ana is taller than Toni.
Short adjective + ER.
old 脿 older
young 脿 younger
CVC + ER (the final consonant is doubled)
big 脿 bigger
hot 脿 hotter
Short adjective ended in –Y 脿 -IER
easy
脿
easier
heavy 脿 heavier
LONG ADJECTIVES
You can add
more + adjective + than
to compare 2 people, 2 places, 2 animals, 2 things when you are using
longer adjectives.
Example:
Toni is more serious than Ana.
exciting 脿 more exciting than
beautiful 脿 more beautiful than
We use THAN after the
comparative form of the adjective.
John is taller than Mary.
